Heribert Tenschert has bought and sold manuscripts and early printed books since 1977. In 2019 about 200 of the 260 to 270 complete medieval manuscripts on the market belonged to him, and his stock runs to some 300,000 antiquarian books. The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung calls him “for many decades the most important antiquarian bookseller of the German-speaking world”. Atelier Zweig represents him in the United States.
