Notes
The first catalogue raisonné of Gauguin’s paintings, describing 638 works. Georges Wildenstein finished the manuscript and corrected the first proofs before his death in 1963, and his son Daniel contributed the foreword. A second volume of biography and drawings was announced and never appeared. Daniel Wildenstein’s revision of 2001-2002 covers the paintings only to 1888, and museums and auction houses still cite the 1964 numbers for the later work.
Jacket sunned with spine creased, edges of boards rubbed. Near fine.
